Information for the Primary Election - March 5, 2024
Sample ballots can be obtained and printed from moorecountync.gov/494/Sample-Ballots.
There are separate ballots for the Democratic, Libertarian and Republican parties as well as a Non-Partisan ballot style. Voters registered as ‘Unaffiliated’ may vote any one of these 4 ballots in the primary.
All 4 ballot styles include the Moore County Board of Education candidates. The Non-partisan ballot contains ONLY the School Board races.
Board of Education candidates: All the candidates for Board of Education are on all four ballots. You can vote for four candidates – one from each of the four districts. The top two vote getters from each district will be on the ballot in November.
Voting on March 5 is in your regular precinct from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm.

Judicial Primary: Judicial elections are often overlooked, but these are IMPORTANT contests. A Voter Guide for the Judicial Primary is available at https://www.ncsbe.gov/search/ncsbe?keys=judicial+candidates In the primary are two contested appellate court contests; a Democratic primary for NC supreme Court Associate Justice seat 6, and a Republican primary for NC Court of Appeals Judge seat 15.
A Voters Guide for the all the NC Judicial candidates will be mailed before the November election.

Early voting is recommended.
A Photo ID is required for voting: TAKE YOUR PHOTO ID WHEN YOU GO TO VOTE! For most voters, this is a driver’s license. If you need one, free ID’s are available at the Board of Elections in Carthage during business hours. The list of accepted IDs can be found at NCSBE.gov.
Have issues voting?? If voters have an issue with being able to vote, they can request a Provisional Ballot, which is preserved and protected in a certification envelope until the voter's qualifications are determined.
